Ingredients
· 1 cinnamon stick
· 5 green or white cardamom pods (lightly crushed)
· 1 cup basmati rice
· 1 teaspoon salt
· 1 3/4 cups water
Directions
Place the cinnamon stick and cardamom pods on the bottom of a pot. Cover these with the rice. Add the salt and water. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer/low. Cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes. Remove cover, remove and discard the cardamom pods and cinnamon stick. Fluff the rice and serve.
