Xten® Appoints Robert Sparks as Chief Technology Officer

Robert Sparks, co-author of the core SIP specification, co-chair of the SIMPLE working group and coordinator of the SIPit events, joins Xten as CTO Santa Clara, August 26, 2004 – /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ – Xten (OTCBB: XNWK) announced, today, the appointment of Robert Sparks to the post of Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Sparks has been working in the computer and communications industry since 1982. He has spent the last 5 years designing and developing SIP-based IP communications infrastructure. Recently he has been an active contributor to IETF protocol development, with a strong focus on improving interoperability of SIP and SIMPLE implementations. Prior to dynamicsoft, Mr. Sparks was a senior engineer with MCI WorldCom, where he was co-designer of MCIW's SIP-based IP communications infrastructure; responsible for driving vendor development of SIP business telephones; and created and maintained a PC SIP user agent for use in interoperability testing and SIP/RTP protocol research. Prior to MCIW, Mr. Sparks was part of the Admin Foundation Team at Lucent Technologies, Netcare Messaging Services, where he performed design and development of the next generation of NMS’s core business tool (an automated voice-mail system and subscriber management system). Mr. Sparks is an active contributor to many IETF working groups.
