(Al Bawaba Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Virtualization holds the key to more efficient deployment of IT resources and higher productivity, according to Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT vendor.

Addressing regional enterprise customers at a seminar in Dubai, Stephane Rejasse, Managing Director, Middle East, Fujitsu Siemens Computers said that the Dynamic Data Center is a significant step towards providing IT managers with the ultimate tools for moving resources effortlessly and gaining from a much higher level of hardware resource capacity.

"Furthering our commitment to deliver best of breed, end-to-end solutions to regional IT decision-makers, we partnered with AMD and Network Appliances to highlight how these technologies provide a blueprint for a virtualized data center", he said.

"Through this joint partnership we have successfully educated regional enterprises about the virtualisation concept and its benefits to business." During the seminar, Fujitsu Siemens Computers presented IT managers with the results of a study that demonstrated positive Return on Investment for companies implementing virtualization.

Virtualization is an umbrella term for a number of technologies that divide computer resources into multiple independent working parts. The initiative focuses on how companies can make optimum use of IT resources by separating applications and data from dedicated servers, and pooling and sharing assets driven by specific requirements.

"If IT infrastructures are to react more dynamically, they need to be organized in a completely flexible manner - from the processor via the server right down to memory," said Rajesh Deepchandani, Product Marketing Manager, Large Enterprise, Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

"This three-way partnership between major industry players represents a unique initiative that takes an integrated and multi-dimensional approach to virtualization".

Fujitsu Siemens Computers also discussed two of its major dynamic IT solutions, FlexFrame for Oracle and FlexFrame for SAP. Partnering with the two major ERP players, Fujitsu Siemens Computers provides a solution that optimises SAP and Oracle operations in a virtualized environment, meaning customers can avoid the system-integration costs associated with deploying independent software vendor-specific solutions.

"Virtualization is one of the three core principles within our Dynamic Data Center enabling high availability and on-demand computing to become a reality and providing IT directors solutions that help enhance performance and flexibility," added Deepchandani.

"Fujitsu Siemens Computers has created these next-generation virtualization solutions that is cost-effective and increases efficiency two key requirements of customers." The virtualization roadshow has now taken in nine destinations, including Abu Dhabi (the United Arab Emirates), Beirut (Lebanon), Amman (Jordan), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Doha (Qatar), Cairo (Egypt), Kuwait and Karachi (Pakistan). Attendees gained an insight into virtualized resource pools and best-practice solutions on all levels, and benefited from the first-hand knowledge of international IT experts.

About the Dynamic Data CenterThe Dynamic Data Center (DDC) is the Fujitsu Siemens Computers strategy for a new-generation hardware and software architecture that focuses on end-user services and service level agreements (SLAs) which enables on-demand computing to become a reality. With the DDC Fujitsu Siemens Computers enables companies to move from system-related tier-IT structures into service-oriented architectures. This means for example that computers and database resources can be dynamically aligned to applications and the result is increased flexibility and reliability, as well as considerable improvement in the cost-effectiveness of the IT infrastructure.
