The ITEXPO exhibit hall had its opening night last night. I took that opportunity to stop by and visit Ian Colville of Aculab.
Colville mentioned that Aculab at ITEXPO East in Miami is highlighting the same product – the AMS Server – that it introduced at the last ITEXPO. But now the product is generally available and some customers (like one with a videoconferencing application) are using it. The company also now is talking about how the AMS Server – which allows developers use a high-level API based on Python and C# rather than having to write applications in the C programming language – can be used to bring media processing into the cloud. When that happens, Colville said, developers won’t have to buy hardware for development, but instead can use hardware on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Aculab's Alan Pound should be talking more about that during his keynote this morning, said Colville. Come join us for the keynote in B217.
