At its annual Pure//Accelerate event, Pure Storage introduced a major strategic upgrade to how enterprises manage and deploy data infrastructure. The newly launched Enterprise Data Cloud (EDC) combines unified hardware, intelligent automation, and policy-driven control under a single architecture intended to span traditional data centers, hybrid environments, and public cloud.
The platform is anchored by Pure Fusion, an intelligent storage control plane that treats multiple arrays—across different locations and cloud environments—as one cohesive system. This unified view supports global policies for provisioning, replication, quality of service, and access control. The system also introduces a new concept called “presets,” which allows enterprises to automate setup for common use cases from day one, reducing the potential for human error and misconfiguration.
Beyond simplifying deployment, EDC introduces deeper orchestration across security and IT operations ecosystems. For instance, Rubrik’s ransomware recovery platform is integrated to automatically tag secure snapshots and initiate rollbacks when attacks are detected. CrowdStrike also plugs into this ecosystem to accelerate response workflows by coordinating alert data across compute, storage, and network infrastructure. Additionally, ServiceNow integration supports end-to-end ticketing and policy management for enterprise workflows.
This orchestration is increasingly necessary as enterprises adopt AI workloads and scale unstructured data. To meet these demands, Pure Storage introduced two new storage platforms. FlashArray//XL R5 delivers up to 70 percent better performance and 7.4 petabytes of effective capacity, while FlashBlade//S R2 provides enhanced object storage for AI and analytics use cases. FlashBlade also supports S3-compatible object storage, allowing developers to consolidate block, file, and object data on a single platform.
Evergreen//One, Pure’s storage-as-a-service model, has also received key updates. New industry-specific pricing tiers, dynamic storage tiering, and longer-term snapshot retention are now available. These changes aim to make the platform more attractive to regulated sectors like healthcare and finance, which require predictable performance and strict compliance.
Chadd Kenney, Vice President of Product at Pure Storage, noted that customers are no longer looking to just manage storage—they want to manage data across environments in a way that aligns with business objectives. That shift, he said, has driven demand for automation, global visibility, and platform-level control.
CEO Charles Giancarlo echoed that sentiment, pointing out that enterprises dealing with large-scale AI workloads and compliance challenges need data platforms that are not only performant, but intelligent. In his view, modern data infrastructure should support both developers and security teams without compromise.

For MSPs and channel partners, the new architecture simplifies operations by offering multitenant support, cloud-like agility, and a streamlined way to deliver advanced data services. Pure Storage emphasized that the platform can help partners reduce operational complexity while offering premium capabilities to clients at a lower overhead.
As enterprises continue expanding their use of hybrid infrastructure and AI-driven processes, data becomes the bottleneck—or the enabler—for success. With the Enterprise Data Cloud, Pure Storage is betting that automation, orchestration, and platform consolidation will be essential tools in modern enterprise IT. By merging software control, hardware performance, and ecosystem integration, the company aims to make storage infrastructure easier to manage and more responsive to today’s demands.
