Has anyone noticed that this company is charging a fortune? It is outrageous. I am paying about $80-$100 a day for a mid-size car with NeverLost. This is in every state from
Amazingly, if you look at the receipt, there are all sorts of taxes and miscellaneous fees that are unintelligible. I feeling like I am reading a cell phone bill.
I am considering getting a portable GPS unit with an MP3 player built-in. I probably won’t do it as it is yet another device to carry. On the other hand, NeverLost is costing about $10-$12 a day depending on fees and taxes so 30 days of rental will be the break even to purchase such a device.
I am on the list to get a demo unit of this GPS device which could be a NeverLost killer. Assuming they send it, I will review it and let you know how it goes.

January 19, 2009 at 10:37 pmDo you recall when Hertz was the most amazing car experience of all. All those helpful people and those really cool cars. Not anymore. My company has been using Hertz at a rate of about 140 rentals days per month for the past 15 years. Just this week things got so bad that we decided to withdraw and seek another vendor. The reductions in staff, fleet and service makes it ridiculous to to continue paying the Hertz premium. Last Monday night there were 13 heavy users lined up at the Houston Gold Desk. In Manchester of Thursday and Friday Hertz charged me $116. per day for a Ford Edge. Of course there is never anyone of responsibility to discuss these matters with.
I have invested an hour in reading various Hertz related blogs and was amazed that both my observations and suspicions were valid. This is a company that has single handily set labor relations back ten years. I will miss my never lost but at least I won’t be lost in dealing with failing experience any longer.
