I agree with this report that IPTV is the future. Furthermore that Internet delivery companies such as Yahoo! like organization are more of a threat to established players than the telecom companies. The scary thing is if cable and phone companies are really monopolizing bandwidth delivery… How can we be sure to have enough bandwidth for other companies to be competitive?
This is a very serious question as these Internet TV companies will be the video equivalent of VoIP providers. Without adequate bandwidth there would be no Vonage. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
In a few weeks, TMC is hosting IPTV Summit in conjunction with our Internet Telephony Conference & Expo. It will be interesting to explore these questions at the conference. Who will win the TV wars? At this rate I may put my money on Yahoo! Assuming there is enough bandwidth of course.
