September 5, 2005 at 6:35 pmI have been house-hunting and looked at some tract mansions. At first, they seemed a good deal for the money per square foot. But now they seem rather pretentious; and having toured inside of these homes, they are very cheaply built. Cheap building materials are used and some of them have safety hazards (loose stair bannisters). Some of these brand new homes are literally falling apart already. Amazing.
