Today we said goodbye to Tony Rybczynski THE Nortel evangelist who has decided to spend more time with his grandkids as he retires. Over dinner we reminisced about the 37 years of service Tony devoted to the company. It was obviously a difficult time for Nortel employees who consider “Mr. Nortel” to be like family and a role model. At the table were many friends, analysts and coworkers.
From a technological perspective Tony witnessed the transformation from rotary to touchtone to VoIP and telepresence and was an important part of getting the latest technologies to market.
Goodbye Tony, we will miss you. Tony will continue to write on his Hyperconnected Enterprise Blog and I can’t wait to see how retired Tony differs from the Tony of today.

It was good seeing you in Orlando and a real surprise to see you at my farewell dinner (I thought I was going to an IDC briefing). Thank you for your kind words.
The intimate evening with you, several Nortel execs and several leading industry analysts (and friends) will be cherished for a long time to come.
I will be continuing my blog and have provided some added perspectives at:
