GoTo and Acronis have announced a new strategic partnership to deliver an integrated solution aimed at simplifying how MSPs and IT departments manage and secure their infrastructure. Through the collaboration, Acronis Cyber Protect is now natively embedded into GoTo Resolve, creating what the companies are calling the “LogMeIn Data Protection Suite.”
According to GoTo, the integration is designed to reduce operational complexity while helping IT professionals respond more effectively to growing cyber risks.
“This partnership provides an immediate productivity boost for MSPs and IT teams managing increasing complexity and cyber threats,” said Olga Lagunova, Chief Product and Technology Officer at GoTo. “With the new integration, our partners can deliver comprehensive protection while managing endpoints more efficiently—without adding more overhead.”
From Acronis’ side, the partnership reflects a broader shift toward embedded services and ecosystem alignment.
“GoTo has a long track record of helping IT teams stay connected and resolve issues quickly,” said Gaidar Magdanurov, Acronis Chief Success Officer. “Together, we are bringing that operational agility into the world of cyber protection.”
The integration offers features such as centralized remote access, policy-based backup scheduling, secure file-level and disk-level protection, and protection for platforms including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace—all accessible from a single dashboard.
Why This Integration Could Be a Double-Edged Sword
While integrations like this are a win for efficiency and user experience, they can also introduce new challenges:
- IT teams may face migration complexity, especially if they’re using separate systems today that require harmonizing user policies or retraining staff.
- There’s also the potential for vendor lock-in. If users become dependent on a bundled solution, it can become harder to swap out one provider in the future without disrupting operations.
- In some cases, overlapping features from the two platforms could introduce confusion about which tool handles what—especially if not clearly defined in implementation.
Competitive Landscape
This partnership comes at a time when the IT service management and backup market is more crowded than ever. Companies like ConnectWise, Datto, NinjaOne, and Kaseya are already investing heavily in all-in-one solutions for MSPs, including endpoint security, RMM, PSA, and backup. GoTo and Acronis are entering the conversation with a differentiated approach that hinges on usability and the strength of their existing brands.
Whether this collaboration gains traction will likely depend on how seamlessly the experience works in practice—and how effectively it is marketed to MSPs navigating both operational demands and rising cybersecurity concerns.
