Apple has applied for a patent that would cover podcast mashups. Similar to a mashup with something like Google Maps, numerous sources will be tapped to produce a new podcast consisting of multiple clips from each.
For the listener this sounds like it has the makings of a Web 2.0 headache but perhaps Apple has already found a way to minimize the confusion caused by multiple voices talking after one another.
