Last week I had a chance to spend a good deal of time with Norman Stout the CEO of Inter-Tel. He told me he is more optimistic about the spend in the market than any time in the last 7-8 years. Some of this is due to leases which expire and part of it has to do with the move to IP and the need for applications to increase productivity, etc.

 

He didn’t have much new to say about the Mitel merger except that things are moving along nicely and he hasn’t had much interaction with Steve Mihaylo / Vector Capital (see Greg Galitzine’s blog for details on the potential competition to purchase Inter-Tel).
