Intelligent Design In Australia

This article explains how Australian scientists compare intelligent design to alien abductions and astrology. Apparently the Australian scientific community is up in arms about the prospect of intelligent design being taught in schools. The theory centers around the concept that some biological structures are too complex to be explained by evolution and a more intelligent designer must be at work.

Update

Another article mentioning intelligent design.

To be fair, when discussing Intelligent Design, one feels compelled to point out a NEW theory of the creation of the Universe, as effected by the Flying Spaghetti Monster (see letter to the Kansas State Board of Education, I’m not making this up). The “Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster” (FSM) is gaining a lot of adherents, or “pastafarians,” as they call themselves. See link below.

Heh, they should look at the evidence of evolution if you want to get up in arms about something. Seriously investigate it yourself before you believe what you have been taught. People need a way to illegitimize immorality and this is how they do it. “Your just animals, do what you feel” its how we evolved. What a load, if that were the case then everyone on this planet should be experts in lying and feel nothing concerning it. Heck evolution would have wiped out homosexuality a long time ago because that gene would have never been carried on. When you talk of evolution be sure to talk about micro evolution (there are examples of that) however, there is no rock solid proven macro-evolution example. Each belief takes faith, I believe the theory of evolution (yes, it is still a theory) takes much more faith than believing in a Designer. But, once you believe that then you have some more questions you need answered.

    Hello brothers and sisters
You may be pleased to know of the formation of the Australian Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster: http://noodlynation.blogspot.com. We welcome talk that ID may be taught in Australian schools – we agree with the ID people (formerly called ‘creationists’) that “alternative theories” should be taught alongside evolution.
So when the chaplains and christian scientists (sic) line up outside school science labs, we’ll be there in our pirate regalia, ready to join the same platform to teach our own theory, which is, after all, blessed with the same amount of evidence in its favour as the ID folk can muster.
We are also preparing to deploy as many Pastafarian chaplains across Australia as it will take to quench the spiritual thirst of Australian students (and quench the flow of public money flowing to the promotion of religion in schools). For details:
