Mobile Advertising Update

The mobile operators have invaluable demographic information regarding their subscribers and it seems that in the US, Sprint Nextel is leading the way in turning their information into gold. One of the challenges for carriers looking to generate ad revenue is developing a privacy policy which makes consumers feel warm and fuzzy.

It is surprising to see Sprint leading other service providers in anything these days but they deserve credit for sidestepping the privacy minefield Verizon recently stepped in.

Wireless carriers are indeed in an amazing situation and I expect them to generate lots of money from mobile ads.
