King Kong

A coworker told me Friday that no one he knows is seeing King Kong and he expected lackluster sales. It turns out he was on the right track. Some of the reasons now being cited for the slow sales are the fact that the movie is over three hours long and people have lots of obligations with the holidays around them. This of course means less free time per person. Another challenge is that women apparently aren’t so interested in the remake of this classic.

The movie has brought in about $66 million in the US the past week and $80 million overseas. The production budget was $207 million. If any of my readers have seen the movie please post a mini review.

I just went to the movie yesterday. The movie though is little long 3 hours, and it took sometime to warm up. Intially I was getting confused whether its a movie on theater actors.. but still overall the movie has few moments to enjoy.
Peter Jackson has done something spectacular, and it really may be time for Spielberg to hand him the Best Entertainer baton.

I recently watched King Kong, and I thought it was a very engaging film. It’s an epical story about a beast from a completely different world falling in love with a beauty from New York City. Their love is pure and their connection is so deep that it goes beyond physical attractions and common grounds… The beast is very passionate, very romantic, very honorable, very loyal and *very* brave. He fights to protect his beloved, and towards the end he sacrifices his life for her. It’s a very sweet movie and I think you should see it!
