Craiglist as Kidney Transplant Lifesaver

When Selena Hodge needed a new kidney she turned to an unlikely place – Craigslist. The site which many blame for inflicting great pain on the newspaper classified business turned out to be not only be the solution of last resort for Hodge but a lifesaving platform which connected her with a total stranger willing to give up an organ based on an online ad.

Turns out finding kidneys online has happened before based on this article detailing not only specific cases but more importantly a website Living Kidney Door Search which was created in 2010 by Suzanne Kloss. On the site you can find stories of people who need kidneys as well as one from Venis Gibby who needs one urgently.

For more check out this article about how John Bellini found a kidney online back in January of 2010.
