The smart grid is a very hot topic now – there is a tremendous amount of value in these new networks and regardless of whether the primary driver is going green, saving or making money, there is a massive amount of interest in the grid’s evolution. As you may know, in two weeks Smart Grid Summit takes place in Los Angeles, CA and we’re been proud to announce a tremendous amount of utilities, other major equipment companies and carriers have signed up to attend.
Frankly, it is one of the fastest-growing events to be collocated with ITEXPO. Jon Arnold is the principal at ICP and a TMC partner on the show and I had a chance to interview him on the event, who is coming, who is speaking and how the event is unique.
As Jon points out, we (those of us who have been involved in seeing circuit-switched networks move to packet-switched) are in a unique position to analyze, predict and report on the revolution in electrical distribution taking place in the world.
I’ll let you listen for more details and I hope to see you in a few weeks – Oct. 4-6, 2010 in Los Angeles at the Smart Grid Summit where you’ll be able to see the latest in the smart energy market and learn where its heading.
