It will be a pretty exciting day when you can watch live TV on a cell phone. That exciting day may be much sooner than you thought as an article by Reuters points out that Verizon may the first service provider to roll such a service out. Just yesterday I wrote about how Verizon is leading the pack in providing video via their VCAST service.
Hopefully this initiative will mean faster adoption of IPTV and more importantly will signal a new era in en entertainment where movie studios will realize they can make a good deal more money if they allow consumers to watch their content wherever they are and on whatever device they choose.
When Apple makes an announcement in the space, expect widespread hysteria by the mainstream media about the changing future of broadcasting.
