Bain and Huawei were hoping to purchase 3COM but national security reasons kept our government from allowing the deal to go through. In the past few months, Bain and Huawei have been trying to restructure the deal in a manner that would satisfy our government.
Apparently this idea did not work as today it was announced that there will be no acquisition. As you can Imagine, 3Com’s stock took a hit on the news.
