Here is a story on the linking of marathons and heat attacks. After years in which almost no deaths were attributed to heart attacks in major US major marathons, at least six runners have died in 2006. It seems the heart may be shocked and at least temporarily traumatized after a marathon. The doctor’s interviewed in the article seem to suggest training for the marathon is great but advise you watch the marathon from home. Any lingering problem with your heart will obviously be amplified on race day. Thankfully I now have one more reason to avoid marathoning. 😉

My name is HECTOR ARRIAGA and I’m here to tell you the story of my father who has suffered heart problems. Due to his condition he had to have surgery a few years ago and he has to take medicines for the rest of his life but he’s ok now his life has changed a lot because he can’t drink or smoke and his diet is a little tough but that’s worth cause that way we’ll get to spend many years more with him
For this reason I started a blog to tell other people these stories and read their stories too
The blog’s name is HEART HEALTH CARE
