SimulScribe: Real Visual Voicemail

So here I sit on vacation missing the hysteria taking the nation by storm. Of course I am talking about the iPhone lunacy. This device will definitely change the telecom world for the better and moreover it is already a target of other companies looking to capitalize on the Apple marketing machine buzz.

Witness the humorous videos being produced by companies like SimulScribe (related entries). As you recall, SimulScribe offers voicemail transcription and allows you to read your voicemail instead of listening to it. As the company says, it is real visual voicemail while the iPhone is “fake” visual voicemail.

Take a look at video 1 and 2 for yourself.

callwave has a visual voice mail feature called Vtxt. It is currently in beta..so its free! Another free voice to text service you should try is called Jott (jott.com). Jott basically lets you text through your voice via cell phone. Just call Jott’s 1-877 number, say who you want to jott, speak, then hang up! The recipient (and you) receive the jott in a text form AND an option to hear the audio. Recipient also receives an email.
