In an effort to compete with PAETEC/Allworx, we can possibly expect Covad to make an acquisition before the year is over of a small PBX player which competes with Allworx. I have heard talk of this and numerous comments which have led me to beleive this development has a high degree of likelihood.

Which companies names have you heard mentioned in relation to the Covad acquisition?
I unfortunately cannot say. I also heard later today that Covad my be refocusing on the voice space again in September. For the record, I should pick up the phone and call Covad but I haven't had a chance as I am traveling 24x7. Anyone from Covad care to respond?
Covad is owned by Platinum Equity now. PE owns Covad, Z-Tel/Trinsic, Matrix, USRobotics and Altura. Unless they bought VegaStream or Edgewater, it wouldn't be close to Allworx. Maybe Carrier Access. And PE does like distressed companies. Too bad PAETEC uses more Adtran than its own brand
