Pryon Gets $20M to Make Enterprise AI like Alexa

If there is one thing most people agree on it is that tech which has been successful in the consumer market will eventually find its way into the enterprise.

The browser and smartphone are just a few examples of how tech went bottom up – not top down.

So when exactly with Amazon Alexa work in the enterprise? When can we say Alexa, do my taxes or Alexa, find me a synergistic M&A candidate – then get the funding and acquire?

Boy, that’s a future of work, digital transformation we can all look forward to.

We aren’t quite there yet but we’ve taken a step in the right direction as the teams behind Alexa and IBM Watson at Pryon are working hard and enjoying the benefits of $20M of new funding. The company is developing a platform that connects employees to digital transformation, extending their ability to find and use knowledge, drive workflows, and make better decisions from wherever they are. Pryon streamlines AI adoption to dramatically reduce complexity, costs, and deployment times.

“There is an opportunity for organizations to revolutionize their workplaces by giving employees the power of AI at their command,” said Igor Jablokov, CEO, Pryon. “We fill the market space between emerging technologies that are difficult and expensive to implement and existing products that are designed for simple rules-based services.”

Investors from the company’s previous funding also participated in this round, including BootstrapLabsEngageGood Growth Capital, and Two Sigma Ventures. Notably, the Engage corporate partners include AT&T, Chick-fil-A, Cox Enterprises, Delta Air Lines, Georgia-Pacific, Georgia Power Foundation, Inc., The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), Invesco Ltd., The Home Depot, and UPS.

Investors had this to say:

“I am passionate about investing in big thinkers who want to solve important challenges, and Igor’s vision for enterprise AI has the potential to positively transform work as we know it. Pryon is providing important solutions to make intelligent, data-driven decisions. I look forward to working with Pryon’s very high-quality leadership team as they continue to improve the workplace with their AI platform.”

“Enterprises are in the middle of massive transformations to take advantage of opportunities enabled by the Digital Economy, while simultaneously combatting new challenges and threats. This is the ideal moment for companies to build AI into their digitization strategies. Pryon has the track record and approach to AI solutions that DA believes enterprises will need to succeed in a world of exponential change. With this initial investment, we look forward to helping accelerate potential opportunities for Pryon across the many synergies within the DA portfolio.”

This past April, TMC reported Gregory Pelton joined Pryon as Chief Product Officer

In January of this year we reported that Infoslips chose Pryon to bring AI to interactive documents.

At the time, Igor said “AI, especially Augmented Intelligence, is revolutionizing almost every industry by combining the strengths of humans and machines. Partnering with InfoSlips will enable enterprises to utilize our Augmented Intelligence platform to deliver even more value through interactive and insightful documents.”

AI will continue to get simpler – just like everything has. Pryon is in the right space at the right time – bringing increased productivity to organizations as they embrace digital transformation and the future of work.

Where do organizations go to learn more about digital transformation? The world’s only Future of Work Expo (collocated with the ITEXPO #TechSuperShow) of course. Feb 12-14, 2020 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
