In an exclusive interview, James told us his focus is to accelerate the growth of the company. Expect continued success in UCaaS, contact center and of course SD-WAN.
He said, “75% of the company’s bookings come from partners and we will continue to accelerate our investments in the global channel program.” But James understands that Masergy’s ability to scale up requires investments in the backend as well, “We are aggressively hiring and adding key engineering, implementation and support staff to focus on internal growth.”
Key areas of innovation include incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into data flows and allowing autonomous action in networks at a use-case level. Recently Masergy announced that Gartner named it the only visionary in its Magic Quadrant for Global Network Services.
“Networking and cybersecurity go hand-in-hand.” James continued, “You cannot have an intelligent conversation with a CIO about networking without bringing up security.”
He went on to explain how Masergy SD-WAN has a layer of built-in security that enables global enterprises to improve security posture, optimize resource efficiency, and enable cost savings.
We asked about the latest trends and James confirmed that cloud adoption is accelerating in the enterprise. As a result, Masergy is seeing huge success with their UCaaS and Cloud Contact Center offerings. Financial, legal, professional services, global manufacturing and tech are strong growth areas. Typically, these companies adopt cloud as a first step, then focus on their branch capability and add on managed SD-WAN and managed security services from Masergy.
We ended the interview asking about where the company sits in the marketplace – and confirmed that Masergy is a unique managed service provider who has gained market share from both larger providers as well as upcoming startups in their space.
